As soon as the eleventh picture is unlocked, a screech sounds, the screen gets a red tint, the music turns ominous, and the picture shows the Chozo scientists executed by the general with his Arm Cannon, suggesting he is part of a malevolent group of Chozo. In order, the first ten depict: 1) the Chozo landing on SR388 2) Chozo scientists discovering yellow Aeion Orbs releasing from dead SR388 creatures 3) Chozo creating digging robots (including the huge Diggernaut) to excavate an underground tunnel system 4) X parasites (introduced in Metroid: Fusion (2002)) infecting the local fauna and attacking the Chozo 5) Chozo scientists creating the first Metroid larva 6) Released Metroids attack and kill the X parasite and several infected creatures 7) Chozo scientists observe a yellow light coming from the floor, as Metroids finish off the last free X parasites 8) the Metroids turn hostile (possibly under influence from the yellow light coming from the caves), molting into their subsequent stages and attacking Chozo scientists and warriors alike 9) scientists setting up the Chozo Seals that flood the lower levels with acidic purple liquid, in a final attempt to keep the Metroids confined in the caves 10) Chozo scientists welcoming a battalion of Chozo warriors on the surface, led by a mysterious Chozo general. Upon collecting power-ups and ammo expansions in the main game, a set of 11 pictures showing the backstory of the Chozo on the planet will gradually unlock.
The game has an special feature in the Gallery section of the main menu called 'Chozo Memories'.
